La Posada Green Valley is seeking a passionate, dependable, and collaborative Accompanist to support our Vocal Director and resident vocal groups. This is a wonderful opportunity for a talented pianist who enjoys making music with others and connecting with older adults.
The Accompanist will provide musical support for rehearsals and performances and collaborate with the Vocal Director on music selection and formatting.
Key Responsibilities
- Accompany vocal groups during rehearsals and performances.
- Collaborate with the Vocal Director on music selection and formatting.
- Follow the conductor and support singers with confidence and flexibility.
- Create a positive, encouraging, and collaborative rehearsal environment.
- Arrive reliably and punctually for scheduled rehearsals and performances.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong piano skills.
- Excellent sight-reading abilities.
- Experience accompanying singers and following a conductor.
- Ability to play from lead sheets is a plus.
- Ability to improvise is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patient, encouraging, and collaborative approach.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Comfortable working with older adults.
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is highly valued:
- Community choirs
- Church choirs
- School ensembles
- Musical theater
- Other vocal or ensemble settings
- Experience working with older adults is preferred.
