Are you ready to teach aquatic exercise classes to the residents of La Posada? Your aquatic experience/teaching will promote health and wellness by providing safe, fun and engaging exercise routines that are adaptable for all abilities.

As a contract instructor you will:

• Conduct aquatic exercise classes as scheduled.
• Create routines for classes and update regularly to incorporate current health and wellness.
• Provide ideas and suggestions for class offerings.
• Monitor class participants and encourage safety and fun for the best experience.
• Communicate progress, problems and program needs to the Living Well Director.

Qualifications:

• Experience instructor various aquatic exercise class to older adults and their varied abilities.
• Work various days and hours.

Preferable Qualifications:

• Valid Aquatic Exercise Association certification.
• Valid Nationally recognized group fitness instructor certification, such as Aqua Zumba, water aerobics, deep-water aerobics, Backhab, or Ai Chi
• Valid lifeguarding, shallow water lifeguarding or basic water rescue certification

Requirements:

• Ability to respond quickly, effectively and calmly in emergency situations.
• Maintain profession image at all times
• Communicate effectively and demonstrate a professional demeanor to staff, residents and the community of La Posada at Park Centre, Inc.
• Good people and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires the physical and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend for periods of time.

Conditions of employment:

• Must comply with organizational and department policies.

This is a contract position. Hours will vary based on La Posada’s aquatic schedule.
