Essential Functions

  1. Assist with personal care activities including stand-by assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and other activities as directed/requested.
  2. Performs and coordinates services essential to in home care assistance including laundry and ironing, changing/laundering bed linens, light housekeeping, pet assistance, and other services as offered.
  3. Initiates and participates in leisure activities provided for residents. Encourages residents to socialize and participate in planned activities or programs and to develop friendships with other residents.
  4. Observes the health and emotional condition of residents on services and promptly reports all changes to the Supervisor.
  5. Coordinates and participates in the prompt and courteous response to resident requests for assistance.
  6. Promotes a safe environment for residents by observing infection control practices, following facility guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the Supervisor.
  7. Assist and coordinate in the preparation and transportation of residents for appointments and social programs.
  8. May assist residents with ambulation with or without self help devices as instructed.
  9. Promotes personal professional appearance at all times.
  10. Attend and participate in in-services as required by federal, state and La Posada requirements.
  11. Maintain current qualifications as a certified caregiver including fingerprint clearance card, annual TB clearance, CPR and 1st aid certification.
  12. Maintain a work environment that is clean and presents a professional image.
  13. Follows established safety precautions in the performance of all duties.

Skills and Abilities

  • Arizona State Caregiver Certification 
  • Experience: 6 months - 1 year experience as a certified caregiver. 
  • Certifications & Licenses: Current CPR and First Aid cards, Fingerprint clearance card, Food Handler’s Card and current TB test.
  • Other Requirements: Able to communicate in English
