We are seeking cooks to work under the general supervision of the Sous Chef to perform culinary duties related to food preparation including set-up, service and clean up to enhance the lives of our residents. Responsibilities include preparation, serving, and presentation of food items in accordance with established procedures, guidelines and recipes. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with excellent communication and customer service skills. Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective work and customer relationships.Opportunities to develop and advance.
Ability to work in a physically demanding work environment, perform considerable physical activities including standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and moving objects up to 50 pounds. Subject to temperature variations working around hot stoves and ovens. There is constant pressure to prepare pastry and baked goods quickly, while ensuring quality is maintained and safety and sanitation guidelines are observed. Must be able to communicate clearly so that food orders are completed correctly. Workers usually must stand for hours at a time, lifting heavy pots and kettles, and working near hot ovens and grills. Work hours may include early mornings, late evenings, holidays, and weekends.
