Days and Shifts Vary

Under the general supervision of the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs, the Dishwasher will perform a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks relating to service-ware, equipment and the La Posada facilities.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send thr
  • ough dish machine. 
  • Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
  • Change dishwater in dish machine every hour.
  • Wash pots, pans and trays by hand. 
  • Remove trash and garbage to dumpster. 
  • Set up or break down dishwashing area.
  • Clean and roll/unroll mats. 
  • Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
  • Sweep/mop floors.
  • Assemble/disassemble dish machine. 
  • Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry. 
  • Notify supervisor any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
  • Do not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first
  • Other duties as directed 

Skills / Requirements

  • Washes dishes, pots/pans and equipment used in the kitchen and dining areas and puts away dry in proper places.
  • Operates, cleans and maintains the dishwasher and other kitchen equipment.
  • Maintains all areas according to cleaning schedules including, trash receptacles, sweeping/mopping the kitchen floor, cleaning walls/ceilings and other structures.
  • Daily trash disposal within regulations and utmost compliance.
  • Maintains loading dock in clean and neat appearance.
  • Follows all safety guidelines in regard to job and physical safety.
