As Executive Director, the successful candidate will provide overall leadership and direction for daily operations, ensuring excellence across all departments. This role requires a highly engaged, hands-on leader who is comfortable working closely with both staff and residents.

The ideal candidate will bring the following skills and qualifications:
- Is fully aware of CEO Executive Limitations and maintains and monitors and reports any deviation from them. Brings to the CEO matters and issues requiring policy formation and then implements policies as established, reporting regularly matters to the CEO.
- Preserves and supports, through policy implementation, the independent and active living and wellness philosophy of the La Posada organization.
- Responsible for promoting the organization and developing programs to support its mission and presence (internal marketing).
- Manages through employment of trained professionals and support personnel and through appropriate delegation of duties and consistent administration of policies. Assures and monitors compliance with labor law, establishes and maintains a positive employee environment (Use HR as resource.)
- Serves as resident advocate as necessary to support residents' rights, independence, security and physical well being.
- Responsible for achieving, sustaining and monitoring resident satisfaction and quality assurance programs.
- Assure the integrity of the Resident Agreement.
- Focus on culture and relationship-building with residents.
- Participate and become knowledgeable and provide input on operational plans, marketing and financing. Become familiar with building and campus plans.
- Actively participates in the development of campus, development of business plans and marketing strategies for all campus and community related activity.
- Coordinates functions with related La Posada departments to assure appropriate communication and cohesion.
- Responsible for assuring environmental safety on campus.
- Assures ongoing maintenance and operational oversight of buildings, grounds and interiors, dining services, housekeeping, security, laundry, nursing, administration, human resources, marketing and resident services departments, using La Posada leadership as support and guidance.
- Prepares operation and capital budget, reviews and analyzes monthly financial statements, monitors adherence of all departments to budget. Supervises and monitors payables, payroll and receivable functions to assure controls and good business practices; oversight of FTES (with support of corporate finance).
- Assures and monitors compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations, particularly those relating to health and safety and nursing services. Trains key management staff in these areas.
- Prepares and maintains policy and procedure manuals, and provides appropriate training and supervision.
- Responsible for successful inspections by fire, sanitation and healthcare officials, using corporate resources as needed.
- Provides input to campus marketing functions, including advertising and leasing programs and public relations in collaboration with La Posada strategies.
- Responsible for ensuring a progressive program of prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and restoration throughout the continuum.
- Establishes, monitors and evaluates vendor, service and management contracts (with corporate assistance as desired).
- Development and promotion of uncompensated care reserves (Good Neighbor Fund) in cooperation with the La Posada Foundation.
- Oversees rate increase activity for residents and assure competitive staff wages, along with La Posada team.
- Represents the organization in providing leadership to the community in health planning and concerns. Represents La Posada locally, statewide and nationally.

Skills and Abilities
Education: Graduate degree in business, public or healthcare administration, gerontology, or related field.
Experience: Five years of management experience in a continuing care retirement community involving responsibility for budgeting, financial management and human resource functions.
Computer Skills: Competent with computers or devices needed to execute the duties of the position. Familiarity with Excel, Office, Word.
