Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Facilities and Grounds, to oversee and direct the landscape staff in a variety of tasks which include the care, maintenance and installation of landscaping and landscaping throughout campus.

 

Essential Functions

  • LMA- Lead, Manage and hold team Accountable.
  • Effectively train and retain field staff.
  • Oversee and manages all operations in the landscape department while operating within budgetary expectations.
  • Plans work schedules for landscape staff to include: mowing, trimming, weeding and irrigation repairs for entire campus.
  • Continually informs and updates the Director of Facilities and Grounds as to job progress on accounts or lack thereof.
  • Participate in creating Landscape Department budget.
  • Ensures that all safety procedures are followed. Report and document all incidents of any unsafe conditions and treat with a high sense of urgency. Take action on all workers’ compensation insurance claims immediately.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects throughout the whole campus simultaneously.
  • Conducts regular site inspections and assesses landscape conditions.
  • Maintains positive Resident relations through project efficiency, problem-solving and fulfillment.
  • Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.
  • Oversee staff recruitment, selection, promotion and advancement.
  • Performs yearly staff evaluations.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education:

  • Prefer an Associate’s degree or higher or equivalent experience (preferably in Landscaping)
  • Preferred: Certified in CPR and First Aid.
  • Preferred: Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) and a Certified Landscape Technician (CLT).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 plus years of experience in management in the landscape maintenance field.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and programs including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy.
