La Posada is looking for a part-time program coordinator who will be the facilitator of a very active lifelong learning program called "Life of the Mind." Life of the Mind programs and delivers a unique blend of presentations, field trips, and concerts. It takes advantage of excellent support from La Posada, including a fleet of buses, impressive meeting spaces, and professional audiovisual systems. The program coordinator will meet and work with colorful and intellectually gifted presenters from all over southern Arizona, as well as traveling to fascinating field trip destinations. The program coordinator will interact with music groups who combine musical excellence with education. He or she will have the satisfaction of working with a value-based lifelong learning program that emphasizes respect for our multiple cultures.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and manage a variety of engaging presentations, field trips, and musical performances that align with the Life of the Mind’s mission.
  • Recruit, collaborate with, and support skilled facilitators and presenters to deliver high-quality programming. 
  • Plan and coordinate program activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and deadlines. 
  • Write and edit program materials, communications, and promotional content with precision and professionalism. 
  • Maintain and manage participant and program information using spreadsheets and other tools.
  • Lead meetings and gatherings effectively
  • Fostering collaboration and engagement among participants and staff. 
  • Work closely with support staff to ensure seamless execution of program events.
  • Cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit, identifying and pursuing innovative opportunities for program growth and improvement.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, including availability on days, nights, and weekends as required.
  • Organize and manage all administrative tasks required by the program such as, but not limited to; reservations, billing, check requests, etc.

Qualifications:

Education

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences or related field.
  • Experience in Adult Education and curriculum development.
  • Ability to identify trends and opportunities in lifelong learning.
  • Comfortable with technology and capable of leveraging digital tools and platforms.
