The Medication Technician works under the direction of the LPN Supervisor to administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the resident's physician. May also perform the usual and customary duties of a caregiver as assigned. Administers and or assist with the self administration of routine and non-routine medications including injectible medication in accordance to physician orders and nursing practice as directed by the LPN Supervisor. Maintains accurate records of medication and treatments administered or omitted on each resident’s clinical sheet. Records narcotics administered or received on the appropriate controlled drug count sheet, reporting all medication errors immediately. Properly stores medications and equipment and keeps the medication room clean and orderly.
