The Medication Technician administers medications and treatments as directed and prescribed by the resident's physician and under the supervision of the Health Services Director. The Med Tech also performs the usual and customary duties of a caregiver under the direction of the LPN and may provide training and orientation to new caregivers/med-techs as assigned.

Administers and or assist with the self-administration of routine and non-routine medications. Maintains accurate records of medication and treatments administered or omitted on each resident’s clinical sheet. Records narcotics administered or received on the appropriate controlled drug count sheet, reporting all medication errors immediately. Properly stores medications and equipment and keeps the medication room clean and orderly.
